INTELLECTUALS
Statement against Fujimori continuity
intellectuals, writers, poets, artists and playwrights of Peru, we stand on the current situation in our country. In the last elections have been finalists Ollanta Humala (Peru Win) and Keiko Fujimori (Force 2011), from both the second round. In a universe of 19 '949.915 of eligible voters, 9' 965.543 voted for the continuation of neoliberalism, while 4 '719.344 lists did so opposed to the model, of which correspond to WINS PERU 4'640, 164 votes. This difference reveals a polarization of forces with the risk that the balance of votes favorable to the prevailing model is loaded to the account of the candidate Fujimori.
owners of economic power, the media and the electoral system, are already maneuvering to support the sourcing, in the second round of Keiko Fujimori, daughter of former dictator who is currently in prison. The hypothetical choice of candidate Fujimori would spell disaster for Peruvian democracy, a throwback to the dictatorial methods of the past and the legitimization of all anti-labor legislation and anti-inherited, the de facto regime, the following governments. It would also mean impunity for genocide criminals, such as the Grupo Colina, who committed horrendous massacres in Barrios Altos, La Cantuta, the valley of Santa, etc..
For these reasons, Peruvian intellectuals can not remain indifferent to the risk of continuity Fujimori. Knowing that not all the essayists, artists and performers have a consistent view that many in the first round voted for different candidates, today's call to vote in second round, against fascism represented by the candidate Keiko Fujimori. This June 5th our vote for Ollanta Humala responsible should mean a vote of struggle, generalizing nationally active protest against the shameful past.
UNIT TO FIGHT, UNITY TO OVERCOME
to Fujimori, in the second round, NOT TELL ...
EXPAND THE PEOPLE'S REVOLT AGAINST THE FASCIST OPTION
